A wonderful example of preservation
Our beautiful line is a wonderful example of preserving railway heritage. But this requires hard work every day from all the volunteers of the association (Railway Heritage and Tourism).
———————————————————————————-
Railway line 128 linked Ciney to Yvoir. A large part of it is managed for tourism purposes by the non-profit organisation Patrimoine Ferroviaire et Tourisme (PFT) under the name “Le Chemin de Fer du Bocq”.
This association, which is also responsible for the maintenance of the line’s engineering structures, invites you to come and discover the brand new aspect of the neo-medieval entrance to the Spontin tunnel, which was bored in 1898-99 and which has benefited from an innovative low-pressure air-gumming process. Explanations on site.
And that’s not all! You can travel by railcar to a construction site where the association’s volunteers use machines whose technological level allows the reconstruction and maintenance of the railway infrastructure in an optimal state, as required by the control bodies.
