Rando-Train of the Bocq Railway

• Length of the hike: 10 km (13 km effort), elevation gain of 184 m. Dirt roads and paths, very little asphalt, two small delicate steep passages. Possibility of mud in the rainy season.
• Comments of the hike: in French.
• Provide: walking shoes with good soles, small snack and drink.
• Minimum age: 10 years old
• Departure and arrival point: the departure and arrival of the train are at Spontin station (Chaussée de Dinant, 3 in 5530 Spontin), see also our “Contact” section. There is ample free parking in front of the station.
  Type of trains: your journey will take place in one of our trains, the most frequent of which are (in french)

  railcar 4506
  the M1 type coaches pulled by the 5205 and 5183 locomotives.
• WC: apart from our dining car, our trains are not equipped with WC. However, there are toilets available in the station.
• Accessibility for people with reduced mobility: Our trains date from the 1930s to the 1960s, when access to transport for PRM was not as developed as it is today. Nevertheless, we have installed mobile ramps on most of our trains. If you have any problems, please contact us
• Pet-friendly: Dogs are allowed on board our trains free of charge, on a lead.
• Route: as part of the “Rando-Train du Bocq”, you will only make one part of the journey by train (Bauche – Spontin). The diagram of the line is shown here
• Line 128 and the Chemin de Fer du Bocq: you can find information on line 128 here. Line 128 is run by the non-profit organisation “Patrimoine Ferroviaire et Tourisme” which is made up entirely of volunteers (and 1 employee). You can follow the life of the association on our blog.
• Your reservation: within the limits of our general conditions, you can modify and cancel your reservation yourself online or by contacting us by mail

• Dates: 13 July, 4 August. Other dates to be announced soon
• Schedule:
  – Welcome from 11:00 onwards at the Spontin train station: free drink with your picnic (picnic not provided)
  – Start of the hike: 12:00
  – Arrival in Bauche around 15:30-16:00
  – Boarding the train: 16:00
  – Return to Spontin: 16:45

Possibility of picnic (not provided) in a restaurant car of the Bocq railway. Possibility to buy drinks.

• Reservation required, no later than the Friday before the hike. Possibility of cancellation by the organizer if too few registered hikers.

2. book only the hike (drink with your picnic (picnic not included), guide, train ticket Bauche – Spontin) at the price of 16.00 € (youth; 11 years and under) + booking fees
